Ideas and technique to help you promote and image radio

Production help for New Zealand radio

Please see this open letter from Ande Macpherson in Christchurch, New Zealand. If you’re in radio production he’s appealing for your help.

Hi,

As you can imagine we can’t play the normal commercial ad inventory on our Christchurch radio stations at the moment (seems the wrong time to be promoting a Happy Meal..).

We have asked some Aussie stations to do some cold voice messages & would love the same from the UK & Europe – well anywhere really.

If you are able to get as many voices as possible and email them to me that would be awesome.

So basic brief for each bit of audio is: name, where are you from, short message (5-10 secs). That’s all & then email an mp3 back to me on this email address

Please feel free to forward on to other radio folk. I will take as much audio as I can get!

Imagine how awesome it would be to hear audio from across the world saying people were thinking about you as you were trying to get your life back in order & find your pet who had been missing for 3 days.

As I write this the latest info is: Fifteen more bodies have been recovered from the ruins of Christchurch today. It brings the death toll to 113… with over 220 still unaccounted for.

Any voices are much appreciated but would love some big national ones as well – Christian, Johnny, Dr Fox, Steve Wright, Chris Evans, Young Mr Mills, M Goodyear, Keavney etc. Some great Scottish, Welsh, Geordie brogue wouldn’t go astray either. Come on, fill up my inbox I dare you!

Thanks in advance.

Ande
