Ideas and technique to help you promote and image radio

Aliens take over Kerrang Radio to promote film

Ever since the Brand Integration rule changes in 2010 – there’s been some pretty neat stuff coming out of the speakers across the UK.

Take a listen to this gem from Kerrang! Radio – you can see how this piece of audio that is designed to promote the film release of ‘The Darkest Hour‘ embeds into the style and edtorial output of the station.

Kate starts by doing a standard comp read for the on-air film promo – this is followed by Kate then talking up the synopisis of the film – explaining its a takeover and invasion by invisible aliens who take away all life and power. Then what happens is magical. You hear the songs loosing energy and the station being ‘taken over’  … it’s really quite an epic piece of S&P. I think Kate Lawler and Neil Fearn deserve a BAFTA for their acting skills too!
