Just One Cornetto voted catchiest jingle of all time
‘Just one Cornetto’ is the catchiest jingle of all time, with 45 per cent of British adults claiming it pops into their heads against their will.
Those pesky PR guys at Chicken Tonight have released a survey this morning looking at the catchiest jingle of all time – you have probably heard your favourite Breakfast show talking about it in their ‘survey of the day’ moment.
At the end of last year – I blogged about the importance of a sonic in advertising, and todays research shows that it works. The survey says that Brits claim to spend on average 58 minutes a week with a jingle stuck in their head, which equates to a staggering two days 3,016 minutes a year. What’s more, it takes Brits an average of almost 17 minutes to stop humming or singing a catchy tune and forget it!
Top of the poll was ‘Just One Cornetto’ from their advertising in the 1980s and 1990s .. with the more recent Go Compare and P-P-P-P-Pick Up a Penguin also scoring in the top 10.
The folks over at the Daily Mail explain more.
